Emma- Birmingham
Hi, I’m Emma. I'm really excited to be working full time for Navs this year. Knowing Jesus is amazing and exciting and scary, and Navs is helping me work out what it really means to follow Him. My heart is to see those who know God living in the fullness of all He has for us, equipped to know Him deeply and personally, and then to go out and change the world! I also want to help students who don’t know Jesus work out how this guy who died 2000 years ago is relevant to their lives today. I can't wait to see what God has in store for us in Birmingham!
Ben- Glasgow
Hello everyone, I am Ben the vegetarian, diabetic Connect worker in Glasgow. I have recently graduated in archaeology from Glasgow University and without the help and discipleship from Navs over my past 4 years in Glasgow; I would not be the man I am today. Before the summer the opportunity to serve God through the Connect programme arose, and I was delighted to get the chance to serve God and learn more about His personality. I am excited about serving not only the Christian student community as a Connect worker, but also spreading the message of the Salvation of God to those who do not know Him yet.
Josh- Manchester
There are several things that I am hoping God will show me during my time here this year. Chief among them is how I can engage a post-modern culture as a child of God. God has given me a real heart for developing relationships with people so that they may see where Jesus is working in my life through being open, vulnerable and available to people as I meet them. I am excited to help the Navs in Manchester to meet people who have never met Jesus before and engage them in discussion about topics like why we should care about things outside ourselves; where we get our sense of self; where we get our sense of worth; and what is love really? All of this with the intention of developing relationships withe people and inviting them to consider the answers to those questions in the teachings of Jesus Christ. My big prayer for the year is that I would learn to continue to surrender my plans into God's capable hands and that I may continue to work to His glory and not my own.
Anna- Glasgow
Hello! My name is Anna and I’ve just graduated from the University of Glasgow with a degree in French and German. I am so excited to be doing the Connect Programme this year because I have the opportunity to serve within an organisation which has played a crucial role in my own life. My experience with the Navigators has strengthened my faith, provided many of my closest friends and helped me to understand more about God and His Word. Through Connect, I want to be instrumental in ensuring that Glasgow Navs continues to touch other people’s lives in the same way that it has my own and to learn how to be completely devoted to God and to others.
Mark- Glasgow
My name is Mark and I am a Connect worker for Glasgow Navs. I was brought up in Glasgow and I am a Politics graduate from the University of Strathclyde. This Year, my role will be to support and encourage those within the Glasgow ministry as they pursue an ever deepening relationship with God. From my experience at university, I found that the student world is a very spiritually dark environment. Therefore, Navs is crucial in helping students align themselves with the truth found in the bible and helping them apply it to their daily lives.
Sarah- St Andrews

Hello! My name is Sarah and I am doing the connect year in St Andrews, Scotland. I graduated from St Andrews in June having read Theology. I love getting to know God and His Word, and was firstly excited about doing connect with the prospect of having a year devoted to this! Secondly, I am continually amazed at the simplicity and yet breadth of the gospel- there is no part of creation that is left untouched!- and so I am keen to spend time learning more about the gospel, what it means for every part of my life, the lives of the students with whom I'm involved in St Andrews and indeed creation as a whole!
Tim- Manchester
My name is Tim. I LOVE music! I studied music in Manchester for 3 years. Throughout this time I was continuously badgered by Mike Spencer to do the connect programme! I was adamant that this was not what I wanted to do and after Mike left me alone God decided to change my heart. Mike almost feinted when I told him! So here I am this year doing connect. It is very exciting! God has already been at work in the Manchester ministry and in my life. I can’t wait to see what he has in store for the rest of the year…
Andy- Leicester
Hi my name is Andy and I have recently graduated in History and Politics and I am doing my Connect year in Leicester! I am really excited by what God has planned for me this year, and I really want to grow in my relationship with Him and learn what part I have play in His story. I hope that this year I will be able to meet people and show them just how amazing God is, how anyone can meet with Him, and have a personal relationship with the great creator of the universe. I hope and pray that The Great Commission and The Great Commandment will be lived out this year in Leicester and God will draw many people to Him throughout this year. This is just the beginning… God has great plans!
