Ituna Community Project

The vision for the project started in 2005 following a three week visit to a school for orphaned and vulnerable children in Kitwe, Zambia. The initial team was composed of students and young graduates from Sheffield studentNAVS. Five of those on this trip, and one other person became the founding trustees of the charity and continue to run the project.

The Ituna Community Project was registered as a UK based charity in July 2006 to work in partnership with the Racecourse community in Kitwe Zambia. Our mission statement continues to focus our actions:-

"To empower Ituna Community School, Kitwe, Zambia, to develop a self-sustaining educational facility which positively impacts the future lives of the children and wider community."
